Preserving and re-creating the beauty of the Coromandel Peninsula has always been close at heart for Richardsons Real Estate so when the opportunity came to support a very worthy cause the team at Richardsons Real Estate were right there.
The Kauri 2000 Charitable Trust aims to recreate some of the magnificent kauri groves that once dominated the Coromandel Peninsula. Kauri 2000 evolved out of a project to mark the start of the new millennium with a goal to plant 2000 kauri. The plan had such appeal that to date the Trust has planted over 23,000 kauri on the Coromandel Peninsula and continues to plant each winter.
Richardsons Real Estate has arranged with Kauri 2000 to donate a Gift Certificate to each client on completion of a purchase transaction. Each year Kauri 2000 will then plant a corresponding number of kauri trees in designated areas around the Coromandel Peninsula. For Matarangi the planting area is a lovely piece of DoC land with fantastic views between Rings Beach and Matarangi Beach. There will be a Richardsons Real Estate planting area set aside for trees on this site so people will be able see the grove grow and prosper.
If you would like to volunteer for this years planting which is due to occur on Saturday 7th June and Saturday 14th June please let us know and we can put you in touch with the organisers.
Richardsons Real Estate and the Matarangi branch of Richardsons Real Estate are proud to support the Kauri 2000 Charitable Trust.
